CCEMP 2023 Career Development Seminar
Professionals gathered at the highly anticipated Career Development Seminar hosted by CCEMP at 7250 Keele St, Concord in Toronto on June 25th. The event proved to be a resounding success, equipping attendees with valuable insights and strategies to navigate their career journeys effectively.

During the seminar, Weiwu Chen, an Environmental Engineering EIT at Parson, shared his experience and insights on job hunting in the environmental engineering field. Chen emphasized continuous learning, professional development, and networking as essential strategies for success.
Sharon Chen, a Water/Wastewater Engineer at York Region, shared her inspiring career journey from the private industry to the government sector. She highlighted the importance of researching organizational culture, networking, and identifying transferable skills when considering a career transition.
Chris Zhang, an intermediate drainage consultant/senior hydraulic modeler at Arcadis IBI Group, provided comprehensive insights on the essential skills required for environmental engineers. Zhang emphasized technical proficiency, effective communication, and project management as key areas of focus.
Scott Wei, a senior wastewater engineer at the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks, shared his expertise on job hunting in the Ontario Public Service (OPS). Wei emphasized understanding the public service landscape, tailoring application materials, and familiarizing oneself with the interview process as crucial steps for success.
