室内空气质量在北美是日常备受关注的一个热点话题。室内空气质量控制不仅仅是土木市政工程的一个热点分支,也是很多工程咨询公司的项目热点和就业热点。本次讲座我们邀请了来自多伦多大学的博士毕业生Amy (Tianyuan) Li 和Bowen Du 为大家分享他们在室内空气质量控制工程领域内的一些研究发现。
许多研究发现暴露在尘埃和灰尘较多的环境中容易引发多种健康疾病,例如心血管疾病或肺部疾病。在北美,通常我们生活中90%的时间是在室内度过的,70%的时间会待在家中。因此家中室内空气质量的好坏跟我们的呼吸健康有很大的联系。我们怎样才能尽可能的减少跟空气中有害的灰尘悬浮物接触呢?
在本次讲座的第一部分,Amy和Bowen会和大家探讨一下常见的室内污染源。除了那些容易控制的污染源例如炒菜油烟和吸烟烟雾,他们也会介绍那些隐藏在家中的潜在健康杀手。特别的,他们会帮助大家鉴别那些声称会有助于健康但实际上会成为隐藏污染源的室内产品。在第二部分,Amy和Bowen会介绍可以减少室内空气污染源的方法和策略。他们也会分享他们在研究中的发现:减少安装中央压力空调(central forced-air HVAC system)和移动空气净化机的室内环境中的污染源。曾被CBC Market Place 邀请研究加拿大市场上现有的几类热销室内空气净化器是否真的有效(https://www.youtube.coméwatchÉv=0uZKBlwLEFs)。最后,他们会和大家讨论一下怎样利用现有室内设备来减轻感染新型冠状病毒(SARS-CoV-2)的风险。

Amy (Tianyuan) Li - Ph.D.Candidate, Department of Civil and Mineral Engineering, University of Toronto.
Amy received her BASc from the Department of Civil and Mineral Engineering at the University ofToronto in 2016. She is interested in building science and indoor air qualityas people spend more than 90% of their time indoors. She hopes that herresearch will help to reduce people's exposure to harmful contaminants. Hercurrent research focuses on the performance and benefits of central HVAC filtersand portable air cleaners, and how they could reduce particle and othercontaminant concentrations in residential buildings.
Bowen Du - Ph.D. Candidate, Departmentof Civil and Mineral Engineering, University of Toronto
Bowen spent 7 years studying building science, HVAC, and Indoor Air at Tongji University, China before he came to the University of Toronto. His research interests mainly lie in assessing the impacts of indoor environmental quality on occupant health and performance. Currently, he pays major attention to the potential cognitive impact of CO2 and other pollutants.
