Dr. Chen Wang is currently working in the consulting sector as a Geotechnical Engineer. He specializes in water-retaining structures such as hydroelectric plants, dams, and flood dykes. He has worked on a variety of projects such as hydroelectric plant redevelopment and rehabilitation, nuclear power plant upgrade, flood dyke EA and rehabilitation, dam safety review, sewer system upgrade, and road widening.
He obtained his Ph.D. degree in Memorial University of Newfoundland. His research interest included soil-structure interaction, large-scale landslides in sensitive clays, and numerical modeling. He published papers in acknowledged journals such as Géotechnique, Canadian Geotechnical Journal, and ASCE Journal of Geotechnical & Geoenvironmental Engineering.
Dr. Wang has a great passion for connecting with peers and exploring the applications of state-of-the-art technologies in Civil and Environmental Engineering. In his spare time, he indulges in his love for trail-hiking, landscape photography and vlog making.
